I truly believe that all things (even the trials and calamities) are good for us because they "...Conform us into the image of His Son." So when we go through a hardship, we as believers must view it as good for us...because it helps us become more like Christ. And the beauty of this is that when we become more like Jesus, we are pleasing to God because God said audibly to the world in Matthew 3:17, "This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased." The beauty of all this is that when we are pleasing to God...we are glorifying Him...doing exactly what He has created us for because God tells each of us in Isaiah 43:7 that "He has created us for His glory..."
